About the film:

12 Angry Men is a 1957 American drama film directed by Sidney Lumet. The film tells the story of a jury made up of 12 men as they deliberate the guilt or innocence of a defendant on the basis of reasonable doubt.
12 Angry Men explores many techniques of consensus-building, and the difficulties encountered in the process, among a group of men whose range of personalities adds intensity and conflict. Apart from two of the jurors swapping names while leaving the courthouse, no names are used in the film: the defendant is referred to as "the boy" and the witnesses as the "old man" and "the lady across the street"and the jurors never say their names just their number.
In 2007, 12 Angry Men was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Synopsis:

In the United States, a young immigrant boy with modest origins is accused of murdering his father and he is under of the death penalty. A jury of twelve men has to decide unanimously on the fate of the boy. After hearing the facts, they retire to deliberate and proceed immediately to a vote. Eleven of the jurors vote “guilty”. Only one of them, without being sure of the innocence of the accused, has serious doubts and vote “not guilty”. He prevents the other jurors to make a decision too quickly, not based on real foundations.
He has to justify himself, he explains his doubts. Then, he works to convince them one by one.
